LIVE EVENT ILLUSTRATION

Treat your guests to a unique experience by having them illustrated live at your event! Live Event Illustration is an one of a kind experience. Not only does it excite and entertain your guests, but it also serves as the perfect party favor for them to take home and cherish as a keepsake forever.

My sketch technique for events is minimalist and faceless in style, with a focus on the guest’s attire, hair style/color, & skin tones. I use professional markers that give a watercolor effect, a waterproof artist pen, and acrylic paint markers on your choice of 5x7” or 7x10” acid-free card stock paper. All sketches are inserted into a plastic slip for protection. Also, the guest of honor or wedding couple will get their own special 9” x 12” illustration that I create later in my studio. I arrive early to set up and I bring all the equipment needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

To secure your date, a non refundable first payment of 50% will be required. The rest of the payment will be due 2 weeks prior to the date of the event. Please note that rates vary per event.


How Events Are Priced

Hourly Rate + Material Fee + Travel Fees (if necessary)

- We consider factors including but not limited to: Travel, guest list size, custom requests, and accommodations.

- Bookings must be made at least 2 weeks in advance.

- All payments and pending balances are due before the date of your event.


Average Sketches Per Hour

Throughout the event, guests sign up, and we take their photo as reference to sketch from, so they may continue to mingle and enjoy the event. They are also more than welcome to watch as Joelle creates their sketch, as that is half the fun!

You can book up to 5 hours of sketching time. On average each sketch can take 5-8 minutes for one person and 13 minutes to sketch two people. We can adjust the level of detail in the illustrations in order to reduce the illustration time per guest, if you desire. Depending on your guest list size, not all guests may get drawn. Please keep in mind, not everyone will ask for a portrait as well.

  • Guests will have a finished illustration by the end of event. They can choose to wait for their illustration or go enjoy the event and come back for their illustration with their picture taken with Ipad.

  • The venue or host provides a sturdy table (minimum 4’ wide, rectangular is best) decorated as desired with a chair, and an electrical outlet nearby. We provide all art supplies, cardstock, packaging for illustrations, a table light, and signage.

  • Yes! We can pre-print on the illustration paper for an extra fee, starting at $20.

  • Yes, live illustrations are great for any size event, large or small. If you are worried about managing the number of guests we can accommodate during the event, we can discuss a few creative options with you.

  • This varies depending on the event and client. Joelle will not be able to complete illustrations outside of hourly pay unless negotiated first with Brand and Client.

  • Joelle will contact Brand or client with unfinished guest illustrations for approval. Without approval, Joelle will be unable to complete illustration.

  • Joelle or her assistant will take video and photo content or social media channels including but not limited to: Instagram and Tiktok with permission from Client in Event contract.
